That’s a great suggestion. I’ve added the creation of a badge to our to-do list, but can’t commit to a release date.

No, there is no state exam to be a notary signing agent. However, you must be a commissioned notary in your state.

    Hi,

We recommend the NNA’s certification/background check package because it’s a great value since it’s priced about the same as background check only options so it’s like you get their certification for free.

It’s important to note that their certification primarily covers ethics in great detail and not the breadth of topics covered in our program.

Our signing agent program comes with our own certification, and we also offer free bonus training for those interested in the NNA certification. It’s important to note that you’d only need to purchase their $99 package, as our comprehensive training covers everything in their program and more. For instance, we provide guidance on running the business and securing signings, areas not covered by the NNA. The two certifications are complementary, not competitors, each focusing on different aspects of the business. It’s worth considering that with the NNA, you’re primarily paying for the background check.

As an example, we have a state-approved notary training course on a different website for CA, and that state requires a background check for all notary commissions, which typically costs more than $99.

If you’re not a notary yet, becoming one in your state is the next step. Then it’s following the process taught through the program.

    Hi,

The NNA’s background check and certification option is priced about the same as other background-check-only options. We recommend theirs because it’s like getting an additional certification for free. Their certification is a brief training that focuses mainly on ethics and a very brief overview of a limited amount of documents and doesn’t teach anything about how to start a signing agent business and get signings. The two certifications are complimentary, not competitors, since they focus on different areas of the business. We actually created our program to make up for all of the gaps in theirs.
